I love fresh flowers! Justin brought me some home for our anniversary last week and they are still going strong. I love them even more when they last! I split them up a few days ago and put them in small vases all over our house so we can enjoy them in every room. I put this one in an antique blue vase in the bathroom to spice it up a bit. It's nice to change the look of your bouquets after you've had them a while by floating them in water. It's simple and only takes one flower!

Quarter for a Cart
When I was little, I loved putting the quarter in the shopping cart at Aldis to get the cart for my mom. She went there often to find the best deals and to save money. Since I've been out on my own, I've only gone a handful of times. I just don't like going to multiple stores to get groceries, and Aldis doesn't always have everything you need. I decided to give it a go yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. They had so many deals I called Justin and told him all about them!
Their super good deals of the week are Tomatoes on the vine ( five in a pack) for only 79 cents! I thought surely it meant by weight, but nope...just 79 cents for five tomatoes! They also had four ears of corn (or lobes of corn as a friend calls them) for only 69 cents!
I couldn't keep this little secret to myself...so those of you who live near Aldis, grab a quarter and get ready to save some money!

Oversized Jewelry
I enjoy looking at Jewelry...each piece is such a work of art. These are all a little over the top, but they are bold and unique, which I love. I think my favorite is this first yellow and white one. I love the asymmetry.

shadow boxes
Happy Monday to you!
My sister just got a shadow box from Hobby lobby this past week. She said they were really cheap and a really fun simple craft. She just got a wooden one and painted it white. I'll have to post a pic of hers soon...it's so cute! Here are a few others I like too.

Peacock Summer Wedding: Final Post
Here are the last of the photos from the peacock wedding. We made tons of paper flowers for the head table backdrop. The paper is from Hobby Lobby. You can find lots of colors in the gift wrapping section. The peacock is a chalk drawing on a home-made chalk-board. Becky and Kelsy set up the photo booth backdrop. Becky made the letters to look like scrabble pieces. I loved that idea!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
Thanks to Kinsie, Kelsey, Mom, Dad, Becky, Sarah, Julie, Jim, Justin, Kathy, Calleen, Buddy, Emily, and all else who helped!

Peacock Summer Wedding: Post Two
Here are a few detail shots of the head table that Justin took. I think I had the most fun setting this part up. The colors she chose were so fun to work with. I bought some gorgeous taffeta at a local fabric store for the table overlay. The color really popped with the gold plate chargers.
Becky helped me make the lime green pom-poms for decor all over the reception tables. They added a fun pop too. I got the small decorative letters and peacock feathers at Hobby Lobby. The dark teal glasses are from a local thrift store. There is something special about mixing old with new. Here's how it all turned out.
Thanks to my sister, Kelsey, for helping stylize the table. And Sharon for some of the decor props. The blue striped chairs are from a friend's wedding. Thank you guys for letting me borrow them!
I'll post the rest of the wedding pics tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!

DIY Corkboards
I've been wanting to put up some fun covered cork boards in our office. I thought they would be great for Justin to put fresh inspiration up for his graphic design jobs and I could use it for all my crafty endeavors. They are a great, cheap way to mix up your decor in just the push of a pin. Here are a few I like.

Peacock Summer Wedding: Post One
I had the privilege of helping a lovely friend (Justin's cousin) with her peacock-themed wedding reception. It was great working with so many amazing people and seeing everyone pitch in and help so much. I love being a part of not one, but two big families!
Thanks to my mom, dad, sisters, Sis-in Law, aunts and my dear Husband who did so so much (and took all these photos for me) !
Here are a few pics of the chocolate fountain table that some of the Aunts put together. It turned out really fun!
There were so many yummy treats on this table! It was irresistible!
I have lots more pics to share with you soon!
*Thanks to Sharon Taylor for props.

Mirror Makeover
It's crazy what a can of spray paint will do. I've had this mirror since we got married three years ago. I like the shape lots but it was due for a change. I just cut some paper to cover the mirror and sprayed away. It's a cheap and quick way to change up your decor.

Rusty Old Serving Carts
I'm not sure why, but when I see rust, or chipped paint I think AMAZING! I love the character those things bring. I was in a thrift store today and saw this really cute old cart on wheels...it took everything in me not to buy it. It may have been a little overboard on the rust-meter. I still loved it. Wish I had a picture of it to show you. But...I did find these and I think they are all so cute! So fun for a little party to serve drinks or little hors doeuvres on! I guess you would call them bar carts, or beverage carts?

My Tiny Yellow Clock
I was thrifting the other day and found this little yellow clock. It's and old wooden clock. The paint is a little chipped here and there but I couldn't resist. It's so small and cute! Why are miniature things so cute?! I didn't think it would work since the battery pack looked a little rusty. I just now replaced the battery and heard the cutest little tick I've ever heard! It works...
Yay for miniatures. It's the little things in life...

Party Decorating Tips
I came across this photo and just fell in love. The second I saw it I envisioned myself in it with some friends...wearing a summer dress, sipping on a little strawberry lemonade through one of those fun twirly straws and listening to some feel- good music...
Well I didn't exactly picture ALL of this immediately, but it's fun to set up a little scene. I think different photos of spaces give off different vibes. This one I like=)

Rusty Treasures
I found these things the other day while going through some boxes at our house. Unpacking is like Christmas sometimes. Once you get past the boring things, there's always a little treasure at the bottom of the box wrapped in newspaper that you forgot you had. I got so excited when I found these old metal flowers. I got them at a garage sale when I was Probably fifteen. The bag they were in said they were from the 50's!

Horse Head Mantle
You know those little things you dream of in a home? One of mine was a mantle to be able to change up and decorate however I liked. Now that we have our own, the possibilities are endless! I can't wait to hang stockings on ours this Christmas!
Becky got me this plaster horse head for my birthday last year and I've been dying to put it on a mantle! I got the vintage books from the free shelf in the library at college and have been saving them for this very thing. The book ends and green floral artwork are from flea markets.
I plan on changing our mantle set-up often. I just can't keep things the same for too long...anyone else have that problem??

Summer Party Bags
I got to be a part of the Summertime Soiree at Pickwick House this past week. I made a few little party favor bags for place settings. They are a fun way to add a little sparkle to your table. They are for sale in the shop now. I'm excited to post more photos from the Soiree next week. Here are a few of the bags.

Yummy 4th Treats
I can't believe there have already been fireworks stands set up for weeks now. It's so crazy how fast the year goes by! I was looking at some fun fourth desserts. We have a family get-together we're going to and I'd love to try something new. Here are a few from Better Homes and Gardens that I like.
